Having played drums (badly) in a variety of bands, always with Mark & Dave, I decided to hang up the sticks for good 2 or 3 years ago. Mark & Dave wanted to reform an earlier punk band that we were all involved with, but they needed a front man as well as a new drummer to complete the line up. Not wanting to go back behind a kit, I put myself forward as the singer and the lads very kindly agreed to audition me for the part. For some unexplained reason, they very sympathetically offered me the job. And, once we had found ourselves a drummer in Andy Clark, The Janitors were born. Anyone who has been along to see us will know that not only can I not play the drums, I can't sing either?! But hey, it's punk rock, and who cares?
