Imagine this, you’re 12 years old and a
huge fan of McFly. In 25 years time (approximately the year
2031) you’re in a band and you play some ‘old’ 90’s & 00’s tunes. McFly are still
together and still performing, although they don’t chart any more,
and haven’t done for 20 years or so. But, they can still make
enough money from the smaller venues to keep them in socks with
some spare change for a beer or two. Anyway, one day you get a call/e-mail or whatever means of
communication the year 2031 offers,
from a local venue. The question is; ‘Hey boys, fancy supporting
McFly?” Am I painting a very detailed picture here? This is the best
way I can think to explain what it was like when Paul from the
Three Tuns asked; “Hey boys, fancy supporting the UK
Subs?” Of course, without even thinking,
Mark hastily replies ‘YES, YES, YES!!’. Quick reality check here Mark, we don’t
have a drummer at the moment?
OK, so Kev is still rehearsing with us, as
he has very kindly offered to spend some time with us recording
a few tracks in May, but maybe we are pushing the whole thing by
asking him to play again. He hates punk rock music, and just
last month he announced potential plans to emigrate. Has being a
temporary Janitor made Kev take a serious look at himself, his
life, his very being? I just hope The Janitors don’t have some
serious questions to answer? Maybe he’s just too polite to say;
‘Hey boys, please just piss off and leave me alone, I hate you
Andrew, I don’t like Dave much and I can’t stand the other one”.
Will Kev play the gig? We don’t know, watch this space.
Anyway, to get to the point, what I'm
trying to say is:
The Janitors are
supporting the UK Subs at the
Three Tuns on Bank Holiday Monday,
29th May!!! |
